The Task

Jack wants our team to design and present a package of promotional documents to market Lorikeet Lodge. He realises each member of the team has different strengths and wants us to use our specialist skills to work within one of the following areas at the retreat:

  • Reception
  • Restaurant
  • Finance

During this time you will be required to

  • perform daily set tasks within the organisation.
  • work together in your group
  • formulate a presentation package
  • prepare your presentation for a board meeting scheduled for six weeks time.

To begin

Jack wants every member of the team to design a new logo. He wants it to reflect the ecotourism industry Lorikeet Lodge supports. It must be simple, striking and easily identifiable with the organization.

Design a logo graphic

The team will select the logo with the distinctive characteristics, critical in making it stand out in the highly competitive tourist industry and use the logo in all subsequent designs.

What's next?

Jack has some of his own ideas which the group will be required to research and design. However he is looking for something innovative. Something that will put Lorikeet Lodge in the media spotlight and become a household name. The group that comes up with the most unique package of materials will become members of the team at Lorikeet Lodge.

What are your group goals?

Work together to discuss your group goals. These are Group workers talkingfound on the PROCESS link and will help you understand what is required when you work together as a team.

Examine the individual roles. Decide who will specialize in each area. Team members may need to be flexible to ensure the materials will be completed on time. Good luck with your assignment.
